This document is to inform you about some bugs or strange effects
I found using The-Box and Pandora. There are some minor errors,
but I'll tell you all I've found.

============================== INITIAL ========================

Initial.ttp (V 1.2)
"""""""""""""""""""
You can't use more than one command-line-option, otherwise there
is a strange effect. The following part was created by
redirection; the command-line was "initial -c -u -t":

---------------start------------------

Pandora Initial Utility 1.2 (Atari release)
Copyright 1988, by J.P.Middelink

Rewriting CONF\CONFIG.BBS
Rewriting CONF\CONFIG.BBSUSER.BBS
Rewriting CONF\CONFIG.BBSUSER.BBSTERMCAP.BBS

----------------end-------------------

============================== CONFIG ========================

Config.ttp
""""""""""
Doesn't use the environment variable "PANDORA". Does always
search for .\conf\config.bbs . Seems as if no other path allowed.

Don't try to "w 99". If you do so, you will see ( v)iew ) Area
99, than area 100, than area 99 once again.

Don't try to "w 100". The program will abort and your config.bbs
is lost.

There is a privilege "CLOSED". But you can't find it in the docs.

There are different numbers for the privileges (as "Guest 0",
"Guest 1" and so on). You can use them; don't say "g" for Guest
but "gn" with n=0..9 . But what's that for?

=========================== INSTAL.DOC ========================

Instal-2.arc
""""""""""""
In this document there an example "BBS.BAT" announced. This
batch-file doesn't exist; there is a "DOMA.BAT"-File.

============================== EXPORT =========================

Export 0.50f
""""""""""""
Doesn't work without nodelist (mailer.net/.nod). But how can I
install a simple point without EXPORT, and how to use EXPORT
without nodelist?
So you have to install a full Fido-Net-BBS. The only difference
between Point and Node is the statement BOSS in TB.CFG.

Export.doc:    Nothing about the command-line option "-a". What a
               purpose is that for?

============================== THE-BOX ========================

The-Box 1.11
""""""""""""
TB.CFG: End of Phone-# in BOSSPHONE not recognized. If there's
          a comment, the comment too is used for phone-number !

Point-Setup:
          Boss-Baudrate is assumed zero; TB produces the line
          "Baudrate 0 not known" in the log-file. How can I tell
          TB the boss-baudrate?

Mailer: Dutchie 2.90 gamma doesn't like TB's YooHoo. TB can
          send but doesn't recognize that there's mail for you. You
          have to use "mailer no-smart".

          Opus doesn't like TB's Zed-Zep. Same effect as
          Dutchie/YooHoo: you can send, but TB doesn't recognize
          that there's mail for you. You have to use "mailer no-
          zedzap".

TB-DOC02.ARC:
          In nightwatch-mode you have two more function keys:
          F8 - a "$" appears, after CR the shell. What's that
          function?
          F9 - forces the modem to answer immediate.

<-> FILEFIX.ACC
          I use a new File-Selector-Box in my system. Some
          programs cause a reboot of the system if TB was used
          even if TB is terminated.

============================== PANDORA ========================

Pandora 2.41d
"""""""""""""
U)pdate: Using the Update-Function for a message, then trying to
          insert two lines at the beginning (Keys: U I 1 I 1), I
          produced a bus-error.

          Another strange effect: Try going to the Matrix-Area,
          begin to enter a message, list the nodes in a net and
          abort this. Immediately after that use U)pdate for the
          mail you are "standing at". You will get a strange
          message.

Doc's: What a purpose are the command line options "-c -d"
          for? "-c" seems to be "operate from console".

          Nothing about the special console-functions if there's
          a user in the box. "?" shows you some more keys.

Console: Instead of "Ctrl-O" you can use "Ctrl-/", "Ctrl-P" =
          "Ctrl-0", "Ctrl-Z" = "Ctrl-\".

L)ist: If you interupt by pressing "Ctrl-C" your message-
          pointer points to the last message listed and not to
          the last message you read.

User-Record:
          Seems as if there's not enough room for many areas. If
          you've seen too many your message pointer will point to
          the highest message.

Reply: You can produce a message which is a reply of itself.
          Try to reply to any message, then abort and immediately
          after that r)eply once again.

F)iles: "f *.*" and you see the comments only. But no files.

============================== COMSCAN ========================

Comscan 0.60e
"""""""""""""
Option -d doesn't function. There are different errors: "-d 6"
          produces "Invalid -d option", "-d 7" (ore more than 7)
          produces "unknown option".
          This is very hard cause you need that option! I hope it
          will be corrected soon.

============================== XLTLST ========================

Xltlst
""""""
- produced an error cause of an "-unpublished-" phone-number
     in St.Louis-Nodelist. But I don't know if the error is in my
     nodelist or in xltlst.

- No error message if that's an incorrect nodelist, but the
     program doesn't do anything more.

- Doesn't accept more than the next Nodediff.nnn to a
     nodelist. You've to compile the nodelist once for every
     nodediff.nnn. (Rename the "higher" nodediff's so xltlst
     doesn't see them).
