Hello. I just got my new Jaguar
yesterday. I thought some of the folks
out here in Cyberspace might like to
hear an honest review of the system
>from a true owner. I am not a
professional reviewer, so take my
views as you like.

The system itself: Solid, attractive
construction.

The controller: VERY comfortable to
hold. My girlfriend has severe pain
in her wrists when she uses many of
the controllers available out there
for the other systems. With the
Jag controller's grips, and the way
it is laid out, she has had no problems
using it.

Cybermorph: The packed-in game cart
is a very good game. Similar in
concept to Rescue in Fractalus and
Star Fox, it is a superior example
of the sub-genre. While the terrain
does tend to suddenly "pop up" on the
horizon, this just becomes part of the
game after a while. I am no fan of
shaded-polygon graphics, but this game
does have its appeal, even to me. the
reason is the high degree of playability.
After spending a few minutes running
into mountains (with the digitized
female co-pilot voice saying, "Where
did YOU learn to fly?" and "Avoid
the ground."), I got the hang of it.
Since then, I have found the game
enjoyable to play, the graphics fun
to look at (especially the excellent
job of shading), and the action
gripping. Heck, it is fun just to
fly around, watching the terrain go
by. Dogfights are great, too.

I have noticed no slowdowns, even
though many objects are on the screen
at once.

Nit-picking: The co-pilot voice does
not come on when an explosion happens
simultaneous with her voice. The
holographic head appears, the lips
move, but no voice comes out.

For those of you who are unsure of
whether you would enjoy having this
system, try it out before making a
decision. At $250, it is no small
decision for most of us whether to
buy this game machine.

My guess is, if you try it, you will
buy it.

Happy gaming,

Joe
