Chagall Reference Drag-and-Drop 12.5.93
==================================================

Chagall already supports in a limited manner a
   very pomising new technique: Drag-and-Drop.

This permits the moving of elements (blocks),
which up to now has been possible only within a
window, also across the window boundaries. If you
have cut out a block in Chagall you can now drag
this to the Desktop. Chagall will then automatically
open a new window in which the block will appear.
If you move the block over another Chagall window,
on the other hand, then this block will be adopted
by that window. If you have previously activated the
'Swap blocks' option in the Block parameters..\MENU\OPTIONS\BLOCKPAR,
then the block in the target window will be adopted
as a block in the source window at the same time.

Chagall also already supports data exchange between
different applications when MultiTOS is in use:

Thus you can use the Drag-and-Drop process described
above to move blocks into windows of other applications
also, as long as the relevant application supports
   this procedure.
