STUNE - The battle for Aratis ** NEWS * BUGS * HISTORY ** ### News: Version 0.90 - Unconventional 2k1 Edition - 9th Sep. 2001 ### - New energy management: With a negative energy level repairing and the building of units and constructions is much slower. As well your rocket turrets won't work any more. - Fixed hundreds of bugs ;-) The game is really playable at the moment. But still there might be some bugs. If you are able to reproduce one of them please tell us!! - Included the possibility to load and save games. - Included the possibility to set the options in the main menu. - Included the possibility to activate up to 9 units at once. You can select them by opening a rubber-box. Alternatively you can press 'ALT` to add single units to the selected ones. - Slightly improved artificial intelligence. As well units move a bit more intelligent. - Selected units can be grouped by pressing 'Control'+ a number between 1 and 5. To get the groups activated just press the number you have chosen before for the group. - Included English briefings. ### Known Bugs ### - STune sometimes hangs in network mode. - The DSP-MOD-Player crashes sometimes when an accelerator is switched on (mail me, if you have such problems!). - The intro is very lame and full with bugs. ### History ### ** Version 0.85 - The Error In Line 2001 Edition - 15th April 2001** - Charon and I (Thothy) met at the Error-In-Line 2001 Convention in Dresden. There we played STune with network mode against each other and so we were able to fix some nasty bugs in the network mode (so it works better now, but still not perfect - sorry). - Fixed a lot of bugs, e.g. the sand bags and walls should work better now. Fixed a nasty bug that overwrote memory in true-color, too. - Restructured the information window. - Cleaned up the source code. We are now able to use another C compiler with less bugs than Sozobon-C. -> Faster and better code! ** Version 0.82 - 2000-07-08 ** - Charon has been called up to the army :-( This might be the last release for a longer time... - Slightly improved artificial intelligence. - Briefing window before each mission. - Added 3 (!) new single player levels and 1 new multiplayer level - Enjoy 'em! - Slightly improved RSCs. - Fixed a lot of bugs. ** Version 0.81 - 24th May 2000 ** - The network mode is many times faster than in V0.80. Now playing via Internet should be possible without speedproblems. Note: Please do not play version 0.81 versus version 0.80! - Fixed a bug that deleted units or buildings sometimes. - Included the possibility to send the opponent a message while playing (just press 'm'). - Fixed a bug in the routines for the harvester. - Now it is possible to set the aim of a unit in the map. - Non-blocking popup menus in fullscreen mode. - You can now center the screen to you base by pressing 'c'. - Swedish language support thanks to Fredrik Olsson. - Czech langague support thanks to Adam Pergler. Also thanks to Stanislav Opichal for checking and correcting the charset on the Atari. ** Version 0.80 - 21st April 2000 ** - Network support!!! Charon really did it! Now you can play versus your friend via the Internet or a local network. You only need a STik compa- tible IP stack. - Polish language support thanks to Rafal Kawecki. - Highscore list included. - Included a (very lame) intro scroller. ** Version 0.72 - 12th March 2000 ** - High/True color support: STune should now run in _any_ screen resolution. Thanks to a routine of Dan Ackerman, STune is now able to use the 8 bit graphics in high/true color (but it may take a while until the graphics are converted during startup). - The language can now be selected during the game. - Matthias changed his nick name from Sokrates to Charon. ** Version 0.70 - 23rd January 2000 ** - Fullscreen mode included! STune runs even faster in fullscreen mode. - Units can now patrol: Select a unit, then hold down a shift key and press the mouse button for the aim field. - Ever heared Spion screaming? No? Then you should roll over a soldier with a tank -> A very nice sample will be played! - Some people complained about STune not restoring the palette when it was changed by another application. This feature is now included. - Animated mouse cursors included. - Changed the level file format - their size shrunk by 1/4 ! - Changed some key bindings. ** Version 0.60 - 28th November 1999 - The Paracon II release ** - You now can roll over foot troops with big units like tanks. Then there will be a big bloodstain on the field ;-) . - Included Spion's newest graphics. - If there is not enough free space at the bottom of a build facility and a new unit is built, a unit will move away to make place. - Units that have to observe an area whose edges reach outside the playfield didn't observe anything. This bug has been fixed. ** Version 0.53 - 6th November 1999 ** - Better level included (created by Charon). - The program is now a little bit faster. ** Version 0.52 - 6th October 1999 ** - Included Spion's grafics as far as he has painted them (they look very cool!). - Radar should now work right. - Better English and French language support (again thanks to Guillaume for his French translations). - Some minor bugs fixed. ** Version 0.51 - 18th August 1999 ** - The popup menu functions were nearly completely rewritten. Now the popups don't block the screen anymore and MagiC should no longer crash when the user closes the popup. - Nasty bug in the sprite drawing routine fixed that made the screen sometimes go weird. - The Sozobon C optimizer seems to have some problems with the register opti- mization that made STune crash on some systems. I disabled now the register optimization. Does anyone now if there is a patched version of the optimizer? - Proselytizer (Bekehrer) and the repair facility (Werkstatt) should now work. - French language support (thanks to Guillaume Deflache). ** Version 0.50 - 2nd august 1999 ** - Thothy finished his simple graphics, so that there are no longer those stupid white gaps in the landscape. - Enhanced sound routines: On a falcon you can listen now to a MOD while you are playing the game. - Improved mouse forms and building construction. ** Version 0.43 ** - Added window dialogs instead of those silly original GEM dialogs. ** Version 0.41 ** - Removed some errors from the EiL-release. ** Version 0.40 - The EiL-release ** - Charon and I (Thothy) met at the "Error in Line" Party in Dresden for the first time. There we were able to kick a lot of bugs out of the code and to include an improved information panel. ** Versions 0.1x and 0.2x ** - Some very early puplic releases, still very buggy ** Version 0.10 ** - First public release ### EOF ###
