                   **** GemACE Player ****

GemACE is GEM player for *.AM files (ACE modules). U don't need to
load ACE Tracker to listen modules anymore, GemACE is all u need to
enjoy ACE modules, while u do other things. GemACE support AVSERVER
protocol, so u can just double click on *.AM files, or drag them to
GemACE window or GemACE Taskbar button (Jo Skarstein's Taskbar) and
they will load automaticaly. Of course you need multitasking OS for
that (MiNT or Magic) and an AVSERVER (Thing or Jinnee). To make TOS
users hapy as well, GemACE came in three flavours:

  GemACE:

GemACE is full GEM application with GUI dialogs in windows. Works
in MiNT/Magic/TOS (not tested in Geneva). GemACE commands are self
exlanatory so should be easy to use. GemACE may in some cases go
silent, due to interrupt problem or CPU overflow. When that occurs
press on "GemACE" icon far left and player will be reinitialised so
u don't need to exit GemACE.

  mACE:

mACE is acronym for MicroACE. Basicaly mACE is almost identical to
GemACE, but no GEM dialogs are used. All commands can be issued via
menu bar or keyboard shortcuts. mACE is smaller as GemACE, it loads
faster, and don't display anything, just play music. Some essential
info is available via menu bar as well. mACE still supports all
protocols, same as GemACE. GemACE looks like shit in STlow or any
double line resolution ( 640*240 for example ) and that was anoter
reason to make mACE. To be able to use mACE, you MUST copy F32.DAT
and REPLACE.BIN to same directory as MACE.PRG

  GemACCE:

GemACCE was designed espacialy for TOS users, so they are able to
listen ACE tunes, while do something else. Becasue of that, GemACCE
is realy minimalistic. When u call it from accessory stack, it will
toggle PLAY or STOP. GemACCE does lock DSP and Falcons sound system
while playing, and release them when not playing. That way u may
just stop ACE tune, if u need to load and use another DSP or sound
application. To use GemACCE u **MUST** copy REPLACE.BIN and F32.DAT
to your boot partiton (usualy C:\)

  There are still some problems:

 - Button highlightning, when loading file via AVSERVER, don't work
so either wrong buttons are highlighted or none...

 - No player set the Falcon sound matrix. If you use some sound app
which set matrix off and dont restore proper state at exit sound
will be mute. Use some CPX or PRG (SND_THRU.CPX, IPHIGENY.PRG..)
to set Matrix and DAC ON.

 - GemACE, mACE and GemACCE must be in same directory as REPLAY.BIN
and F32.DAT. This is not so much a problem as feature, to allow
easy player updates. Probably won't be changed in future...

 - Pause and FastWinding buttons do no work. GemACE currently don't
support those featueres, still butons are there, just incase :)

  NOTE:

GemACE needs Falcon030 computer and atleast 4MB of RAM. We also
don't take any repponsibility for your hardware or ears damage, use
GemACE playsers at your own risk. U HAVE BEEN WARNED! ;))
